SHARE YOUR CAB,SAVE YOUR CASH !
HOT SPOT......BOILER ROOM......HOT SPOT
.....Ok, here's how it works. First log on to cabcorner.com and join the cab sharing programme, there is no cost involved. Simply answer a few questions and give a few details about yourself. Then, when you need a cab, log on to cabcorner.com and state your destination and time of journey. (Let's say you want to be at Penn St. Station at 7pm) so, you come to the Boiler Room at the appropriate meeting time, maybe 6.30pm,(The Boiler Room is a designated 'HOT SPOT' meeting point) and cabcorner.com will hook you up with a fellow traveller also going to Penn St. Station around the same time, then you and your 'hook up' will hail a cab in the usual way, and you both split the cab fair, saving you both cash. It's so easy!
When you first log on to join you can specify certain preferences, ie: if you need a cab late at night, and you are a girl, you may not want to share the cab with a guy,...that kind of thing, so you will always feels safe. Sounds like a good idea to me!

DID YOU KNOW?.......
The 1980 Warner Bros. movie, 'CRUISING'......starring AL PACINO, and directed by William Friedkin, was filmed at 'THE BAR'.
THE BAR was open for 26 years, and was one of the very first openly gay bars in New York City in the late 70's. THE BAR was owned by the same owners of THE BOILER ROOM....up until just a few years ago, both bars were open and running at the same time, just around the corner from each other. 'The original outside canopy of 'THE BAR' now hangs in THE BOILER ROOM, to this day as a nostalgic reminder of the discreet gays days of the past.

Article "Young-Hip-Gay New York"

"Start your evening at Boiler Room, the best alternative bar, hands down. Be sure to bring your spare change at this East Village lounge, because you're the DJ. Boasting a jukebox with extensive selections from the Pointer Sisters to Pantera, this is a perfect place to meet your friends before a long night out, or to wind down after a long day at the office. The crowd is usually mixed, as Boiler Room draws in the boys from every neighborhood of Manhattan and pockets of Brooklyn, but its down-to-earth ambiance and friendly bartenders make for a charming atmosphere."
